This is an opportunity for middle school students and their parents to take in the academic and extracurricular opportunities at NM. The evening will begin in the auditorium, where parents and students will be introduced to the department chairs, and I will take a few moments to share the vision and direction of the school. Following these introductions, parents and students can make their own way around the school (maps will be provided). Each department will have staff and students available to answer questions, there will be displays, sample lessons in progress, and activities. There will also be an activities fair, Pat the Patriot will be on hand, and the school will be full of our current students.
Mr. Taylor, Principal of the North Middlesex Regional High School is in the process of evaluating the high school schedule in terms of student learning. Based on the feedback he receives, he will either propose a new schedule or recommend that they keep the existing arrangement. Central to this process will be an analysis of feedback from students, faculty, and parents. He will also be looking closely at student achievement data, such as MCAS and SAT trends.
Mr. Taylor plans to present his findings to the School Committee in early December. With this in mind, he asks that you take a moment to complete this short survey, and consider attending the community meetings below:
