Field Hockey & X-Country

Both our field hockey and cross country teams are off to a great start! The weather has been beautiful for practices, meets, and games. The camaraderie this year is amazing! Our students are out there cheering each other on! Check out some pictures!

The district unites! All middle school field hockey players from NMS and HBMS.

Join the Cross Country Team!

We are proud to offer Cross Country as a fall sport to all students in the middle school grades 5-8. There are no tryouts and all students are welcome to participate. Athletes need only a pair of running shoes, shorts, a tee shirt, and water bottle. Tee shirts for meets will be provided.  The season runs from the start of the school year until the end of October.  Practices are held from 2:40 to on or before 3:20 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  Meets are held at NMS or another local school. The school district provides transportation to all away meets. A calendar of events is available online through the NMRHS website: http://www.mwlma.org. Please check it often as things change!

As you may already know, the School Committee voted to institute athletic user fees for both middle and high school sports.  Middle school athletes are now required to pay a fee of $100. The fee must be in the form of check, money order or paid online. CASH will not be collected.  Checks should be made out to North Middlesex Regional School District. If paying by check, please write the athlete’s name in the memo section. If the fee provides a financial hardship, please contact Mrs. Larochelle or Mrs. Gleason. Parents must also complete a Parental Consent form prior to participation, student physical (copy of current physical form needs to be given to Mrs. Larochelle) and concussion forms (2).  Sign ups are now completed online through NMRHS website under NM athletics. http://nmrhs.nmrsd.org/

As your child embarks upon a new school year it is important that they feel included in the school community. Being a part of a team is a wonderful way for your child to make friends, have fun and stay healthy.

Our first introductory practice will be held on Tuesday, September 12th for athletes who have returned their physical form and fee.

I would like to tryout a new, free app called BAND. It will allow me to send updates straight to your phone and you will get a notification. I can let you know when practice is cancelled, meets change, when we are coming home from a meet, and reminders when meets are.  Here is the link to the app:  http://band.us/n/aaafvba4S0R8U

Best regards,

Coach Melissa Larochelle and Asst. Coach  Kristen Lawler
