Faculty Friday- Reading Specialist

Mrs. Simonich is reading at the ArcelorMittal Orbit at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London

Kim Simonich began her career in North Middlesex in 2005 as a substitute teacher. She was hired as a Title One teacher in 2009. She came to Nissitissit as the Reading Specialist in 2013. Prior coming to NMRSD, Ms. Simonich taught Kindergarten in Houston, TX for 3 years and in South Yarmouth, MA for 10 years.

Ms. Simonich holds a Bachelor’s degree from UMASS Amherst in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Reading From Wheelock College. Ms. Simonich is also a Certified Dyslexia Practitioner and an Associate of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators.

Ms. Simonich is the mother of 3 college-aged sons; Mike, and twins, Andrew & Matthew. Mike currently attends Middlesex Community and studies Criminal Justice. Andrew is studying Culinary Art at Johnson & Wales and Matthew studies Marine Affairs at the University of Rhode Island. She loves to spend time with her sons. Her hobbies are traveling, cooking and READING!! Ms. Simonich’s favorite genre is mystery.
