Today we begin our Friday tradition of posting a bio about one of our incredible staff members. Today, we begin with Ms. Melissa Thomas. Ms. Thomas is our very busy School Counselor. #jbk #justbekind #facultyfriday #nmpride
Ms. Thomas has been the School Counselor at Nissitissit since 2015. She is currently a Doctorate student of Psychology at Rivier University. She obtained her Master of Education from Liberty University and her Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Syracuse University. Ms. Thomas has enjoyed exploring her interests at Nissitissit by becoming involved in the Theater Program, Student Council, and CLASP. Last year, she authored articles featured in both NH and MA School Counselor Newsletters, and was a presenter at the MA School Counseling Conference. Prior to working at NMS, Ms. Thomas worked in New Hampshire schools, as well as at Walt Disney World. Ms. Thomas enjoys working with staff and students to spread kindness by always reminding everyone to “just be kind” (#JBK). Ms. Thomas loves getting students involved in our school community and sharing school spirit. She is known to set goals with crazy rewards. For example, last year she dyed her hair Nissitissit red as a reward for the food drive. Ms. Thomas has a daughter who is also involved in theater, and a son who loves being a Cub Scout. When she isn’t doing homework, Ms. Thomas can be found visiting people with her therapy dog, Heretic.
