Dear Grade 8 Parents,
I would like to keep you all informed of the plans that are underway for our special 8th grade activities at the end of the year. Please make note of these activities so as to understand how you might be better involved and informed.
We are working to prepare for our 8th grade celebration on June 13. Many parents and staff are contributing time to help make the farewell to our 8th graders a memorable one. The ceremony will take place in our auditorium beginning at 5:30 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2019. The doors to the school will open at 5:00 PM. The ceremony should last about 45 minutes.
The limitation of seating combined with the size of the class requires me to issue 2 tickets to every participating eighth grader. I will have some extra tickets, which will be on a first come first serve basis. You may write me a letter/note requesting the opportunity to have any additional tickets for your family.
You should have received a letter from the PTO announcing the plans for our 8th grade barbeque and evening dance. Both events are being organized by parents. The dance is not a school sponsored event. Each year, parents help organize these events which make the end of the year special for our 8th graders.
In addition to the above activities, we will also celebrate with our 8th grade class during a GREAT Assembly on June 13 at 8:30 in the auditorium. You are welcome to come and share this moment with the class. Several awards and recognition certificates will be distributed at this assembly.
We are looking forward to a great end of the year!
