Beautifying NMS

Thank you to Mrs. Thomas and the NMS Student Council for their hard work on our front landscape. All this rain is increasing the number of weeds to pick! It looks great now! Thank you!

Off to DC!

Our eighth graders are off to Washington DC for the week. Below is the list of contact information. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Twitter. Mr. Cormier provides updates and pictures throughout the day so that you can see what students are doing! You don’t want to miss out.  A Connect Ed call will go out Friday evening indicating what time to pick up your child at NMS.

Yoga Mats Wanted

Have an extra yoga mat hanging around? Ms. Stanton is excited to launch a new yoga unit. But, we need more yoga mats! Please donate a new or gently used yoga mat to our PE Program. Thanks!

Grade 6 Field Trip!

On Wednesday, May 17 the sixth grade students were engaged in a unique education experience.  They went to Roll On America and participated in STEM activities.  The students learned that Science, Technology, Engineering and Math are found in everyday experiences, even in fun experiences like roller skating! They participated in a lesson on formulas, fractions, and fun; the relationship between math and roller skating.  They measured, compared, and averaged the speed of several skaters, and how statistics relates to roller skating.  At the end, they were able to roller skate or roller blade, participate in different games, and socialize with their teammates.  It was a great day!

Sports Physicals

All students who wish to participate in sports must have a physical within one year of starting the school sport. This is ideally done by your child’s pediatrician. A sports physical does not take place of an annual physical exam.
This year, Westford Pediatrics will be offering sports physicals for grade 8 students only. They will take place on June 16, 2017.
Please go to the NM athletics webpage to sign up and complete paperwork.
