Welcome Ms. Plausse

plausseMy name is Jessica Plausse and I am the new Special Education teacher on the Grade 5 Red Team. This is my first year of teaching and I am very excited to meet everyone and get settled in my new position.

I completed my undergraduate studies at Westfield State University, where I received my degree in Elementary Education. I recently completed my graduate program in Moderate Disabilities at Merrimack College. Last year, I participated in a year long fellowship program in a Language Based classroom at Ayer-Shirley Regional Middle School. This experience made me realize that middle school is where I want to be!

I am the proud mother of a cat named Harley, whom I adopted last summer. My best friend adopted his sister at the same time and, yes, we do have play dates with them often! My favorite place is Camden, Maine, where I have spent many summers. I love to read, listen to country music, and travel. My favorite vacation was a two-week trip to different areas of Costa Rica. Night hikes and zip lining through the rainforest were unforgettable experiences. My next traveling goals are either to Australia or to Alaska to see the Northern Lights. Haven’t quite decided yet!

I’m very much looking forward to my first year at NMS. I am eager to collaborate with others and meet the students. I think it’s going to be a great year!
