Next week, a Registered Dental Hygienist from the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health will be at Nissitissit to offer a dental cleaning and fluoride treatment to any student in grades 5 and 6. This will be done during the school day. This service is provided at no cost to you, as our community is a member of the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health.
This program includes cleaning and polishing teeth along with an application of fluoride. The fluoride treatment has been shown to reduce tooth decay. Most dentists recommend a dental checkup and fluoride treatment twice a year.
We hope that many families will take advantage of this valuable program. Your child may participate even if they visit their own dentist regularly. Information regarding this opportunity was sent home on a purple sheet of paper on Wednesday. Please return this form indicating whether or not you would like your child to participate. We would these forms returned as soon as possible so that we can create a schedule.
Please contact our Health Office at 978-433-0114 with any questions or concerns.

Dear Parent/ Guardian,
I am pleased to let you know that our school is participating in the 2014-2015 Massachusetts Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) Model Survey Administration pilot to use student and staff feedback to inform professional growth and support school improvement.
We are working with Panorama Education to ensure the validity and confidentiality of sensitive feedback information. Panorama Education provides online reports with survey analytics that we will use to understand feedback in our school and to grow and improve.
Your student will take an online survey between April 27 and April 30. Surveys will be scheduled during the school day. Panorama Education will provide teachers with online reports, which we will use to inform professional goals and growth in classrooms and across the school. Teachers will not receive information that identifies any students individually.
If you would like more information on this project, please feel free to contact me.
There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Wednesday, April 29 at 6:00 p.m. for any parent or guardian of an 8th grader who is going on the Washington D.C. trip. It is important that at least one parent attends the meeting to receive necessary information and medical forms. These forms must be returned prior to the trip. There will also be a thorough explanation of the itinerary along with safety precautions and procedures that will be followed on the trip. We will also inform parents about what items your child should pack and what items should be left at home. Any of your questions and concerns should be answered during this meeting. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.
