Math Nights for Parents

Grade 7 Math Night for Parents

Tuesday, February 3 at 6:00 p.m.

The Parent Night for Chapter 4 will revolve around percents.  Students will learn how to create equations dealing with percents, and then apply that knowledge in real-world situations such as percent of change, markups, discounts, and simple interest.  Many of these concepts will arise everyday.  This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and students to have meaningful math conversations and put classwork into context.  And, of course, with Parent Night, parents are encouraged to come by for a refresher for their own daily use as well!

Grade 8 Math Night for Parents

Wednesday, February 4 at 7:00 p.m.

The Parent Night for Chapter 4 will focus on algebraic functions.  Students will get their first exposure to the concepts of functions, domains, and ranges.  As an introductory chapter, the students will have more of a responsibility for learning vocabulary and the identification of features of a function. This will serve as a necessary foundation for high school level math.

We encourage all parents to attend these informative sessions!
