Teachers won 3 games, students won 1! The crowd was full of energy!
Happy Holidays! Just a reminder that there is no school December 24- January 2. Student return to school on January 5. We hope that you all have a wonderful holiday and best wishes in the new year!
Every year around the holidays, Mr. Worth’s computer classes work on creating holiday cards using their word processing skills. This year, students have used their coding skills to create a digital card using scratch! Scratch is a free program that allows students to learn basic programming in a fun way! Coming off of the hour of code, and with holiday break fast approaching, students were asked to add a background, a sprite(character), have them move and have them say something. This was a tall task for one class of work time and all students were excited and focused. Their work can be viewed here:
Last week, over one hundred students celebrated earning high honors on their first quarter report card. Students enjoyed a delicious brunch of egg sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, munchkins, cereal and more! This yummy treat was organized and served by our wonderful PTSG! Congratulations to our students and thank you to members of the PTSG!
Please join us Thursday evening at 6:30 for the grade 6-8 Choral Concert. Both the Concert and Select Chorus will perform. This year’s music selection includes pieces from the movie, Frozen! This will be Mrs. Wilson’s final concert at NMS, as she and her family are relocating to Maryland. We want to thank Mrs. Wilson for her dedication and enthusiasm. She has made great contributions to our music program and for that we are grateful. Our students have worked hard to prepare for this concert. Please come and enjoy yourself. Students will also perform an in-school concert on Thursday for entire school.
This morning’s big announcement was (drum roll, please)……….. this year’s show will be Peter Pan! Our students are thrilled! The show will be directed by Kaitlyn Ramsey and assisted by Angela Renzi.
